About Us

The Coalition for a Truly Affordable Boston (CTAB) is a network of housing justice organizations working together to ensure that Boston’s housing policies truly serve those who need it most. Since 2018, we’ve been advocating for policies that center low- and moderate-income residents and protect them from displacement. Our coalition believes that everyone deserves a home they can afford, in a city that remains diverse, vibrant, and welcoming.

CTAB formed in response to Boston’s skyrocketing housing costs and a growing gap between what’s considered "affordable" and what residents can actually pay. We bring together community members, housing advocates, and grassroots organizations to push our elected leaders for changes that prioritize true affordability over profit-driven development.

Through active community engagement, policy advocacy, and building powerful partnerships, we strive to make sure that Boston’s housing policies are accountable to the people they serve--especially those most vulnerable to displacement. From influencing city policies like the Inclusionary Development Policy (IDP) to pushing for an equitable implementation of affordability standards, we’re here to make sure that Boston remains a place where everyone has access to a home.
